Bicycle Legislation Stalled in Iowa Statehouse
The Iowa legislature is debating a bill that "relat[es] to the operation of bicycles on a street or highway, providing requirements for motor vehicle operators encountering other vehicles or bicycles, and providing penalties." Some of the provisions include mandatory safe passing and following distances, right arm turn signals, and clarification of the status of bicycles in Iowa vehicular code.
