Bike To Work Week - May 12th - 16th
BikeIowa is tallying the number and mileage of bike commuters in Iowa participating again this year. This information will be used to lobby local, state, and federal officials for better accommodations. Register at their site to add to their tally, and become eligible for over $1000 in prizes! Friday, May 16th - Bike To Work Day - Ron Ritz @ Skunk River Cycles will be hosting a "pot luck" breakfast at the store from 7:00 AM until the food is gone. Ron will provide coffee, juice, cups, napkins, etc. Everyone is encouraged to bring a little something to share as well. Steve Lauber has made a shower available at Bike World on a first come, first serve basis to anyone who needs to use it that morning before work.

Friday, May 16th - Bike To After-Hours Work - Commuters are encouraged to stop by the outdoors patio of Stomping Grounds for a get-together, including a drawing and prizes.
Annual FCIB Used Bike Sale - Sat., May 17, 9AM to Noon @ Grand Ave. Baptist Church parking lot, 24th and Grand Ave.
Dozens of used bikes suitable for children or adults will be available for sale, with proceeds going to support local bicycle advocacy and trails projects. Worknights to prepare the bikes for sale begin April 1st and 3rd (weather permitting) at Craig and Diane Corson's house at 703 Kellogg Ave. from approximately 5-7PM. Subsequent worknights will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings until the day of the sale, but the location may vary. Contact us for more details if you would like to participate in the worknights or have questions about the sale.
Ames Ride Of Silence - Wednesday, May 21st
A ride in memory of those killed while cycling. Begins @ Skunk River Cycles @ 6:30 PM. To learn more, see www.rideofsilence.org.
